LDR and Total-Tech Mess

“What would you do when your long distance-relationship is challenged by the very thing that connects that relationship?”

Little girl using mobile phone

We live in a generation where technology is a part of our daily lives…

And OBVIOUSLY I am no exception to that since I’m writing this post…

social media

But I never thought a day would come when I would feel so damn sad, worried, annoyed and frustrated because of one social networking site’s strict security measures.

Please don’t get me wrong, I’m not entirely mad to the point of cursing anyone, I am just utterly at a loss of what to do since I honestly don’t know what to do next and can’t do anything tangible.

If not for the advent of the internet I may have never even met him, after all, we are literally miles and oceans apart. I never did believe that you could fall for someone whom you’ve never really met personally and that it’s impossible to develop feelings when only radio waves and computer equipment connect two total strangers. Yet here I am, venting out in my 1-year stagnant blog, conveying my feelings for a special someone I haven’t talked to for days.

Too much drama huh? Psssssh, I’m definitely aware of that. I’ve exhausted all my options in reviving his account, and as much as I want his account to be allowed to become active again, I really don’t have a choice, but to wait until the suspension of his account is lifted.

We’ve been officially together for only 2 months (yep, probably not much YET for your standards)…

Our medium of communication have been convenient enough to serve the purpose of talking to each other to our hearts’ content (well, before this incident happened actually)…

And I haven’t had access to any other mobile messenger apps (until recently)…

So we never felt the need to actually exchange ‘other-more-important’ contact information. (Smooth move… I know)…

Haaaaaaaaaaaaay (and a really exasperated sigh at that)….. I guess I just needed to write everything so I can finally calm down and wait patiently until the suspension is lifted.

It’s not like I can walk from Legazpi City to Bathurst to check and see if he’s okay (trust me, I would have done that already if that’s even possible).

Ever been in a similar situation like this? Words of wisdom would really be much appreciated.

So…. to a certain guy there in Charles Sturt Uni, like seriously, please be well and safe… and (I still can’t believe I’m typing this) I MISS YOU SO DAMN MUCH.

question-mark-face  Sooooooo… Who’s Wise Lee?

The 2013 May Election is near, but people are still caught unawares when trying to think of the candidate who deserves their vote. There’s still time for us to rightly choose, but we have to be really careful. To us, one vote may seem insignificant, but in the grand scheme of things that one vote could mean losing or winning to someone.  One wrong vote, added with other wrong votes could might as well be the end of our future as we know it. However, if we all choose wisely, it will not only benefit the present generation, but the future generations as well.

How are we supposed to pin point which candidate is the right candidate? What you read here is never absolute, these are just things that we should all know and do, so that we would be able to decide in the end who deserves our trust. I still haven’t really decided yet, because I’m still trying my best to see through their popularity, charisma, credentials and smiles. (It’s my first time to vote for the senatorial elections and well, this country deserves the best leaders it could ever have) Just browse through this post and I hope I would be able to help you find what you are looking for.

Your vote matters face_question_mark

“Tama na ‘to, at least hindi ako magsisisi sa huli at hindi ko iisipin na mali pala ang aking ibinoto.”

“This is way better, at least I won’t regret anything in the end and think that I voted the wrong leader.”

This kind of thinking actually has a point, if I don’t shade any of those circles then I won’t be contributing any wrong decisions to my country. But what if we think of it differently, what if we think ahead of the negativity and try to think positively instead.

“Kung ang boto ko ay makakatulong sa pag-unlad ng lipunan, eh ‘di sisiguraduhin ko na ang nag-iisang boto ko na ‘to ay mapupunta sa taong nararapat na manalo.”

“If my vote could help improve society, then I’ll make sure that this one vote will go to the person who deserves it most.”

See through their smiles, speeches & lies question mark face

“Ipinapangako ko na ipapaayos ko ang kalsada sa bayan nating ito, na magkakaroon na ng tubig sa mahal nating barangay…. etc…. etc….

“I promise that if I win, I will help repair the roads in our community, that there will no longer be any problem with the water supply in our barangay… etc… etc…

This is one of the hardest thing to do, because we can’t look into the future and see for ourselves how well our candidates could live up through all their promises. There’s no guarantee that the kind aspiring candidate will become the fair and just ruler he/she has emphasized in his/her speech. That everything in their platform of government will be successfully implemented and that their dazzling smiles don’t hide a cunning interest for the wealth of the people. I am not telling you that we should all think badly of the people who aspires to become our leader, because ALL PEOPLE ARE CAPABLE OF EVIL, but we should bear in mind that ALL OF US ARE CAPABLE OF GOODNESS AS WELL. So, how do we make sure that when they win they will do exactly as they had promised? It’s actually quite simple, the answer lies in our own hands. We have made it so far as praying for our favorite candidate, why stop when they have already won? We shouldn’t be idle, once they win we have to make sure that they remember every single promise they spoke to the public. How do we do that? We become active members of the society, we participate in their programs, we don’t gossip against them behind their backs, we complain through the right channels (letters, set-up meetings with them) and we must always know which program to support (if you don’t like their proposals, then suggest a better way don’t kill them with malignant words and gossips).

We should also try to be supportive (if not innovative), we should think positively about them, pray for their decisions, talk to them with respect. Bear in mind that they are human beings as well, they also commit mistakes, but it’s up to us if we allow them to commit these mistakes repeatedly.

Know the rules of the game url

These people are veterans in the game of politics, the only way for us to win against their underhanded tactics is to play fair and square.

There are policies that will help us determine who among these aspirants follow the rules and regulations. A GREAT LEADER WILL NOT COME OUT OF A RULE BREAKER. LISTEN TO THE NEWS. BE AWARE OF THESE REGULATIONS. FIND OUT WHAT THEY HAVE BEEN DOING IN THE PAST. RESEARCH ABOUT THEIR WHEREABOUTS. The internet is a good enough place to start investigating, but make sure that what you’re reading is legit. Watch the news on televisions and listen to the updates on the radio (not just on their unforgettable campaign ads). Visit websites, learn more about the upcoming 2013 elections. We can never truly tell the difference between their truths and lies, but at least we can find out who broke or followed the rules of this game. Credentials aren’t the only thing that matters, a great leader has to have a good heart as well.

Don’t base your decision on fast spreading rumor, we have the gift of free will. We only have to base our good judgement on precise, well-researched facts and not on the amount of money they can spend for their campaign. Don’t let your judgement be clouded with their smiling faces and awe-inspiring speeches. FIRST WE SHOULD KNOW WHO THE OFFICIAL CANDIDATES ARE. If you are prepared you are less likely to commit mistakes, than when you are in a cramming-state-of-mind.

So, it is for the best that before that day arrives you already have a list of the candidates that you are going to vote for. Just don’t ever lose that list, your decision is yours and yours alone to make. Know your precinct no. (especially for first time voters, like me ^_^) YOU CAN GO TO THIS LINK ( AND SEARCH FOR YOUR PRECINCT NO., but you can also double-check on the COMELEC office located in your locality. You can also find a sample ballot on COMELEC’s website ( Explore their site and learn more about the upcoming elections, share what you learned to others and don’t ever forget that your vote matters. Well… This is all for now, I guess. Thank you for reading my post, I hope I was able to help and shed even a little light to some of the intuitive thoughts running in your head.

OH WAIT!!! This is the most important of all, without this everything else I have said could still fall into chaos. All of us believes in something, we only need to…

Not just on your candidate, but on yourself as well. Doing something right, even if there are only a few who does so, MATTERS A LOT.

Not just on the complexity and negativity of the minds of the people that surrounds you, but also on the goodness in the heart of each person.

Because on the grand scheme of things only He has the power to change even the darkest of intentions to the purest of souls. Pray, meditate or if you wish, just think positive thoughts.

This simple act of unity can actually be the positive change that we have all been waiting for. Catch up with you later! 🙂

ANyOne has A TiMe mAcHinE????

What do you do when you realized you’ve wasted time, doing nothing, or worse complaining???

Feeling like the calendar has been literally ripped off its pages, time and time again we always have to remind ourselves that all of us have 24 hours each day, 7 days a week, 30/31 days a month (well February does have 28 days and 1 more every four years), and 365.5 days a year (the .5 makes up for the additional day in the month of love). So why is it that people always end up regretting things, well not things that they have done (actually, that too) but things that they could have done.

Being a student is tough, being a nurse is tough, being a teacher is tough, a police officer, a computer analyst, a writer, a (well, you get my point I suppose). Life is tough, that all boils down to that, but really do we have to always complain about it?

Let’s see, I last heard a schoolmate complain about all the school projects and exercises their professor told them to do… Really, that’s school isn’t it, you can’t change that… Complain, complain and complain.

What on earth is taking them so long, can’t they call my name sooner?” I heard someone complain in the cooperative, when we were paying for our electric bills (I even end up having the same thoughts as his, whew, good thing a book is always handy. What about you? what’s your time filler?) It’s true, there are a lot of people, but there’s no need to be hasty, that’s just how things run.

“The weather’s too hot, this is so annoying” that’s what we’d always hear if the rays of the sun would show up behind those white clouds in the middle of the vast blue sky, but then again if it rained “Sheesh, why on earth is it raining? I’m soaked already”. Soooo, where do we go from there? Here’s another one, I bet it’s popular.

“Ughh, that is one crappy voice,” I’d often hear that along contests, where the audience tend to become a real keen observer when pinpointing flaws. Being in front of the stage is frightening enough already, ever tried standing in front yet? Got the guts to complain, but none to  stand in front and do the same.

“What a lousy leader she is, keeps on telling us what to do, but couldn’t run things straight as promised.” Some guts they have to complain, after voting for her. Okay, maybe you didn’t vote for her, that still doesn’t give you the right to complain. Have you ever contributed anything to help improve the situation?

“Oh geez, look at the time, where did it all go?” It’s not time’s fault though, she doesn’t have the privilege to make choices and control her actions. Well, time’s duty is to tell us that another second, another minute, hour, day, week, month or year had passed; and she can’t stop. But we can stop, wasting time and complaining too.

Stop complaining, life had always been like that (why is it that there are people who can’t grasp that though?), time won’t stop when people complain. We can never make up for lost time, it had passed, you can’t bring it back. (Not unless you have a time machine lying around in the attic).

Make up for lost time??? literally and technically impossible. How about, stop wasting time with too much complaints? At least that’s literally and technically possible.

Drizzle Not….

Have you ever met someone who left an imprint on your life? Like he or she just came unexpectedly, yet he made that moment really worth spending with, even if its just for a few minutes?… It’s not every time we appreciate every person we have met, we tend to forget that we’re not the only ones spending a life down here on Earth… and we never know what a simple gesture of appreciation will do to someone….

Rain, please don't go away...

The drumming of rain in my window pain was enoughto wake me up in that one stormy night, it’s not like I’m scared silly by it, because I’m not even alone in the house, but still I’m the only one wide awake at three in the morning. The concept of going back to bed was very enticing, it’s tempting to slouch back and curl up in a defensive ball against the cool night breeze, but something in the rhythmical splat splat drum drum and whoosh whoosh of the wind and rain against the eerily silent and empty seeming house, drove me to get out of bed and write something to get it off my mind…

His smile was all I could think of that first day of school, a typical start of semester actually, for it to be so wet and raining, too bad i didn’t know who he was, and so I committed his smile to memory, thinking for no apparent reason about some guy I don’t even know.
“Right a complete stranger in the midst of one rainy encounter,” I mumbled to my self, kicking air in an attempt to look nonchalant.I wasn’t the hi-there-let’s-be-friends type of person back then, and its taking all my resolve to at least answer those that wanted to talk to me.
“Smooth move, could you at least try to be friendly with ease this time? for crying out loud you’re in college already,” I thought to myself while a girl wearing a pink hood smiled at me.Nothing was so special during the class hours, what got stuck in my memory was the person I encountered when I was going home that day. I saw a guy crouched low near an acacia tree in the school grounds that afternoon, I didn’t know why I did but i walked towards him and looked at what he was doing there getting himself all wet and cold.
“What are you doing? You’ll get yourself wet and you might get sick,” I suddenly blurted out before i could even stop myself. The guy looked up, a bit surprised at first but he smiled after seeing me.”Poor thing, I think she’d been here from the start of the heavy rain,” he spoke, pointing at an orange kitten that I was sure to be adorable given the chance to get cleaned. I was so heart stricken, I love cats, who would be so heartless as to leave her die and shiver here, I just thought, seeming at a lost of words in the sadness that was starting to envelope me.”I know, how could someone leave her like this,” he said, having the same thought as mine.
I was surprised that a guy of this looks would even bother empathizing with animals, but I was even more surprised when he kneels even lower and touched the kittens furry forehead, it seemed to respond to his touch, even with just the barest hint of recognition, the shivering kitten started to calm down, for a minute there I thought it was too much for the animal to take, but when I heard the kitten’s soft purr and it meowed in its high pitched kitten voice, I almost forgot that it was raining when I let go of my umbrella and crouched beside the stranger, petting the cute orange fur ball that I almost cried for a minute ago.
“There, there now, don’t cry we’ll find a home for her soon,” he assured me in that same soothing voice, I really can’t help but smile at him, it made me happy just to know that there are still those willing to care for animals.

That memory still brings the goosebumps out of me, it was as vivid as far as memories could go and I can’t blame myself for not doubting what that Julian guy really is, at least he told me a name to call him, I sighed turning off the bedside lamp on my right side.
Placing the pen and the notebook down, I closed my eyes and let the comforting warmth sink in. The rain stopped outside and I was starting to feel the sleepiness return to me when a weight on my foot made me avert my gaze at the end of the bed, I smiled and caressed the soft familiar orange fur that was now at my side, I let drizzles soft fur and comforting purr finally bring me back to sleep.

How do you show your appreciation for others? That may just be a story I wrote, or it could be true .
While riding on a crowded bus, and an old person got in, but there’s no seat available for him, have you tried standing and giving your sit for someone on a crowded bus?
On a rainy day, have you shared your umbrella with a stranger who needs a shelter under the pouring rain? What do you do when an old lady is crossing the streets carrying tons of groceries?
Do you still greet someone with a smile?
Have you greeted a neighbor with a ‘good morning’ before?
Have you told you parents that you love them? or even tried saying good night to them before going to bed? What about giving your snack or an extra coin to those asking for alms?
There are lots of simple things that can make a person happy…

Try them, and you’ll see what it means to really feel glad and heart warmed with something you did for someone, without asking for anything in return…
